The three bosses can be killed in any order, but to activate Hard Mode and obtain better gear, Kaolan must be killed last.
Whenever you kill a Protector, they give the remaining Protectors the Sha Corruption buff. This will enable more mechanics and change how the fight plays depending on the kill order.
The recommended Hard Mode kill order is Regail → Asani → Kaolan.
This fight changes slightly depending on the order you kill the bosses in. Each boss kill gives the remaining bosses a stack of Sha Corruption, and they gain special abilities after one and two stacks of this.
After killing two bosses, the remaining boss gains 2 stacks of Sha Corruption, and the raid will begin to take low Shadow damage every 3 seconds.
Upon each tick of damage, players will gain a stacking debuff that increases their damage taken from Overwhelming Corruption by 10%.

Elder Regail is generally recommended as the first boss to kill.
Regail locks players in lightning. 3 random players are stunned, causing all players within 7 yards to take moderate Nature damage every second.
This can and should be dispelled as soon as possible.
After gaining a stack of Sha Corruption, Regail will begin to summon several waves of lightning strikes.
The first will be under the boss in a 20-yard circle around him. Successive strikes will be 20 yards further away each time, starting at 20, 40, 60, and finally 80 yards.
If hit, players will take fatal Nature damage.
Let the first strike happen under the bosses, and then move into where the initial strike was to be safe from the remaining 3 waves.
Note: This only happens if you don't kill Elder Regail first.

Regail hurls a bolt at the current Tank, inflicting moderate Nature damage.
This spell can be interrupted.

Elder Asani is generally recommended as the second boss to kill, as he spawns an orb to give the raid a damage buff.
KILL ORB
TO GAIN THE DAMAGE BUFF
After Elder Asani gets a stack of Sha Corruption, he gains the ability to spawn a globe of Corrupted Water that will buff all protectors, granting them 75% melee and casting speed until killed.
Once destroyed, all players within 15 yards will receive the Purified buff. This buff increases melee, ranged, and spell casting speed by 25% for 20 seconds.
Asani places a buff on all players and bosses that heals for 5% total health every 3 seconds and increases their healing taken by 50% for 30 seconds.
This buff should be purged from the current target.
To gain Hard Mode loot, you need to kill Protector Kaolan last.
EVERYONE
RUN AWAY
After gaining 2 stacks of Sha Corruption, Kaolan can start using Expel Corruption.
After a short cast, he will expel a mass of corruption in a 30-yard circle around him, dealing massive Shadow damage every 1.5 seconds to anyone in it.
The damage is lower the further you are from the center, but for safety, you should aim to run out in advance to avoid taking any ticks.
Tanks should position the boss to cast in a place where you can minimise the space taken by the circle, ideally overlapping the previous one.
TANK SWAP
TO REDUCE STACKS
After gaining a stack of Sha Corruption, Kaolan will start striking the tank with Defiled Ground.
The ground below a player is defiled, inflicting moderate Shadow damage every second and giving a stacking debuff that increases damage taken from Defiled Ground by 10% for 75 seconds.
Have Tanks swap who is holding Kaolan periodically through the fight in order to avoid taking too much damage with the stacked debuff.
Kaolan's baseline ability is a DoT effect that lasts for the whole fight. A player is periodically targeted and given the Touch of Sha debuff, causing them to take mild Shadow damage every 3 seconds for the rest of the fight.
After roughly 5 and a half minutes with Kaolan still alive, the whole raid will have the debuff.
